Now that we have had a couple of successes, we look to the future. Here are some thoughts for some bylaw revisions:
Bunkhouses. The ZBA is tired of the bedroom / bathroom / kitchenette / future apartment in the detached structures. It is well passed time to prepare some criteria for these dwelling units.
Briggs' 2018-2020 memos. The Building Commissioner, Jay Briggs, wrote a pair of memos that add clarity to the Zoning Bylaw in regards to structures. These should be incorporated into the Zoning Bylaw.
Footnote 7 - Footnote 7 has been the source of much confusion as it states that many lots enjoy grandfathered setbacks. A proposal to simply point the footnote to Section V.D.4 and with a change of Section V.D.4 to state 'vacant lots' in the two applicable sections would reduce the confusion.
